Waiting to Play: A Pause in the Music

Today I’m sharing the second piece in my Daily Painting Series — and this one has a little Vegas flair.
During a recent trip to Las Vegas with my husband, we spent some time in a lively casino bar. Between sets, the musicians left their instruments behind, and I was struck by the quiet anticipation in the room. A guitar leaned against an ornate wallpapered wall, waiting for the next round of fun, laughter, and music to begin.
I wanted to capture that sense of rest and readiness in this painting — the warmth of the wood against the cool tones of the patterned wall, the stillness that carries the memory of what just happened and the promise of what’s to come.
🎨 Waiting to Play is an 8x10 original watercolor, matted to 11x14, shipped with mat and backerboard (unframed).✨ Offered at just $50 with free shipping.
If you’ve ever loved music, or cherished the in-between moments where anticipation is just as sweet as the event itself, this piece is for you.
I can’t wait to see who this piece resonates with — and to share tomorrow’s new painting!
