Yesterday was my birthday and I soaked up the Caribbean Sea and sun. I lived in the moment, fed the fish while snorkeling, ate cake and thanked God for all of the blessings in my life.
As with any birthday, especially a milestone birthday, I did some reflecting.
One of the things that I struggle with is consistency. I have some big goals for myself that require consistent effort.
The result, a 50 day challenge for myself to get into consistently taking action on the goals I have set for myself. This is a 3 part challenge:
A painting a day
30 minutes of exercise
30 minutes of writing
Painting: I will paint every day. Some days I will paint more and some I will do a simple sketch. For the purposes of this challenge, it doesn’t matter. The consistent effort will allow me to learn and grow. To make myself accountable I will share my painting a day.
Exercise: I am keeping it simple. I just have to do something active for 30 minutes. I’m not going to bore anyone with the details of my sweat sessions. I’m just going to keep a log for myself.
Writing: I write in my journal regularly and I would like to add to my writing practice. I am challenging myself to write for 30 minutes each day in addition to my journaling practice. I will share some of the writing, but not all.
Well, that’s it. My personal 50 day challenge for my 50th birthday. Wish me luck and follow along with the painting a day for 50 days!
